How to Use the All-in-One Unit Converter

  1. Pick a category — click one of the tabs at the top (Length, Weight, Temperature, Speed, Area, Volume).
  2. Select the "From" unit — choose the unit you want to convert from using the dropdown.
  3. Enter a value — type any number into the input field. The result updates in real time.
  4. Select the "To" unit — choose the target unit from the second dropdown.
  5. Swap if needed — click the swap button to reverse the from/to units.
  6. Copy the result — click Copy to send the converted value to your clipboard.

All conversions are performed entirely in your browser using standard conversion factors. No data is sent to any server.

Frequently Asked Questions

How accurate are the conversions?

All conversion factors are based on internationally agreed standard values. Results are calculated to 10 significant digits, which is more precision than most practical applications require.

Why does temperature have special handling?

Temperature conversions are not simple ratio-based like other units. Celsius to Fahrenheit uses the formula F = C × 9/5 + 32, and Kelvin is offset by 273.15 from Celsius. The tool handles these formulas correctly.

What is the difference between metric and US tons?

A metric ton (tonne) equals 1,000 kilograms (about 2,204.6 pounds). A US ton (short ton) equals 2,000 pounds (about 907.2 kilograms). The metric ton is about 10% heavier.

Can I convert between different categories?

No, you can only convert between units within the same category. For example, you cannot convert length to weight because they measure different physical quantities.

Are the volume measurements US or Imperial?

Volume measurements in this tool use US customary units. A US gallon is approximately 3.785 liters, while an Imperial gallon is about 4.546 liters.
