PDF Tools

Free PDF tools that edit, merge, split and convert PDF files entirely in your browser. Your documents are opened with JavaScript on your own device, so contracts, statements and scans are never uploaded to ZeroUtil and never stored on a server.

Reorganise pages, shrink oversized files, add or remove passwords and turn images into PDFs without installing desktop software or paying for a subscription.

Edit PDFs without uploading them

Most online PDF editors ask you to upload your file to a remote server, run the operation there and download the result. That is a problem when the document is a signed contract, a bank statement, a medical record or an internal report. The PDF tools in this category take a different approach: the file is parsed and rewritten by JavaScript inside your browser tab, so the bytes of your document stay on your machine. There is no upload step, no queue, no watermark and no account to create.

Combine and reorganise pages

When you have several documents that belong together, the PDF merger joins them into a single file in the order you choose, and PDF merge covers the same combine-into-one workflow. To break a large file apart, the PDF splitter and PDF split tool extract individual pages or page ranges into their own files. If the pages are simply in the wrong sequence, use the PDF page reorder tool to drag pages into place, or PDF rotate and rotate pages to fix sideways scans before sharing.

Common page tasks

  • Merge - gather invoices, chapters or scanned receipts into one tidy PDF.
  • Split - pull a single signed page out of a long agreement.
  • Reorder - fix pages that were scanned out of sequence.
  • Rotate - straighten landscape scans so they read correctly on screen and in print.

Shrink, convert and secure files

Oversized PDFs bounce off mail servers and clog shared drives. The PDF compressor rewrites the document with smaller embedded images and fonts so it fits common attachment limits. To move content between formats, image to PDF turns JPG or PNG photos into a single document, PDF to image renders pages as pictures, and PDF to text extracts the plain text for copying or indexing. For access control, password protect a PDF to add an open password, or use PDF unlock to remove a password you already know from a file you own.

Why browser-based PDF tools

PDFs are one of the most sensitive document types people handle online, and uploading them to an unknown service is an avoidable risk. Because these tools run locally with open PDF libraries, you keep full control of the file, there is no waiting in a processing queue, and the tools keep working even if your connection drops after the page has loaded. Output downloads straight to your device with no watermark stamped on the pages.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I merge PDF files online for free?

Open the PDF merger, add the files you want to combine and arrange them in the order you need. The tool stitches them into a single PDF directly in your browser and lets you download the result, with no upload, watermark or signup.

Are these PDF tools actually private?

Yes. Each tool opens and rewrites your document with JavaScript running inside your own browser tab, so the file is never sent to ZeroUtil servers. You can confirm this by opening your browser network panel before processing a file and checking that no upload request is made.

Can I compress a PDF without losing quality?

The PDF compressor reduces size mainly by re-encoding embedded images and removing redundant data, so text stays sharp while photo-heavy pages get smaller. For documents that are mostly text the savings are modest; for scan-heavy files the reduction is usually significant.

Do I need to install software or sign up?

No. Every PDF tool in this category works on the web page itself with nothing to install and no account to create. Once the page has loaded you can even keep working offline, since the processing happens locally.

Can I remove a password from a protected PDF?

You can use the PDF unlock tool to strip a password from a document you own and already know the password to, which is useful for removing protection before merging or printing. It is not a password-cracking tool and will not bypass protection on files you do not have the password for.
