Player voice
One file per player, each the length of the match with speech at its real time - drop them all at 0:00 in an editor and they stay in sync. Ogg is the original audio from the demo; it plays in browsers and VLC. Every file is made on your computer; the demo is never uploaded.

What You Should Know
To get each player's voice out of a CS2 demo, upload the FACEIT or server demo here. Every player's voice comes out as its own audio file, the full length of the match with speech at its real time, so the tracks line up in any editor. Pick Ogg for the original audio or MP3 for editors that need it. A "who talked when" table lists every line by round with a demo_gototick jump. Matchmaking and Premier demos contain no voice.
How to Extract Voice From a CS2 Demo
- Get a demo that contains voice. FACEIT and other server (SourceTV) demos record voice; Valve matchmaking and Premier demos do not. Reviewing a FACEIT demo covers where to find the file.
- Upload the demo (drag and drop works). It is read in your browser and never leaves your computer.
- Pick the track type. "Separate tracks, synced" gives one full-length file per player that lines up with the others; "Talk only" keeps just the speech, back to back.
- Download one player or everyone as a zip, in Ogg or MP3.
Separate Tracks for Editing
Each synced track starts at the beginning of the demo and places every voice line at the moment it was said, with silence in between. Drop all of them on a timeline at 0:00 and they stay aligned with each other, which makes it easy to mute one player, pull out a single call, or line the comms up with a recording of the demo. To find the round you want, copy a demo_gototick from the "Who talked when" table - the tick calculator converts ticks to a timestamp if you need one.
Who Talked When
CS2's demo player never shows who is speaking. The table under the downloads lists every voice line with the player, the round and the round clock (or freeze time), and how long it lasted, and you can filter it to one player. To listen along inside CS2 instead, the Voice Comms Calculator uses the same upload to build the tv_listen_voice_indices command for the players you pick.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I download voice comms from a CS2 demo?
Upload a FACEIT or server demo to this page. Each player's voice is split into its own audio file, named after the player, and you can download them one by one or all at once as a zip.
Can I get each player on a separate audio track?
Yes, that is the default. "Separate tracks, synced" gives one file per player, each the full length of the match with speech at the moment it was said. Put them all at 0:00 in Premiere, DaVinci Resolve or Audacity and they stay in sync, so you can mute, solo or cut each player.
Why is there no voice in my matchmaking or Premier demo?
Valve matchmaking and Premier demos do not record player voice at all, so there is nothing to extract. FACEIT, ESEA and other server (SourceTV) demos do record it.
Ogg or MP3 - which should I pick?
Ogg is the voice exactly as the demo stores it (Opus audio), with no re-encoding, and plays in browsers and VLC. Pick MP3 if your editor or player does not open Ogg files; it is converted when you click, so the first download takes a few seconds.
How do I see who was talking in a CS2 demo?
The CS2 demo player shows no talking indicator. After you upload, the "Who talked when" table lists every voice line with the player, the round, the round clock and its length, and a button that copies the demo_gototick command to jump straight to it.
Does it work with FACEIT .dem.zst files?
Yes. Upload the .dem.zst straight from the FACEIT match room; it is decompressed and parsed for you, in your browser.
What happens to my demo and the audio files?
Nothing leaves your computer. The demo is read in your browser and the audio files are made there too, so nothing is uploaded, kept or shared.
Can I hear only some players while watching the demo in CS2?
Yes, with the tv_listen_voice_indices console command. The Voice Comms Calculator tab builds it for you from the same uploaded demo, with no second upload.
